Coordinated Polished Remodel

Of all the work we’ve had done over the years, no one comes close to the bar David sets in terms of professionalism and quality of work.

We first connected with David through a friend, and right away, we could tell he was different from any other contractor we had worked with. Initially, we planned to update our floors, but since we had also been thinking about a kitchen renovation, it felt like the perfect time to explore both. From the moment David walked into our home, he noticed possibilities we never would have considered on our own. We quickly realized we could trust him to help us bring our vision to life.

Our kitchen was warm and inviting, but it just didn’t function the way we needed it to. For years, we lived with it as it was, but when a cabinet designer asked Susan what worked in the space, her answer was, “Only the spice drawer.” That summed it up perfectly. What we needed was a kitchen that was both beautiful and functional. David was the first person to suggest looking behind the bulkheads above our cabinets. We had never thought to ask what was behind them, but when he investigated and discovered they could be removed, it completely transformed our kitchen. Now, we have tall, timeless cabinets that go all the way up to the ceiling. It is stunning; so much so that Susan sometimes just walks into the kitchen to admire it.

Working with David was truly a collaborative process. He has a wealth of ideas. One of the things we enjoyed most was bouncing ideas off each other. He has a keen eye for design, and his expertise was obvious from the very first meeting. He even identified the wood of our original floors on sight!

When we mentioned that our foyer felt dark, he suggested adding recessed lighting, which changed the entire mood of the space. He also recommended opening up the entryway into the kitchen; that single idea was a game-changer. Now, when you look through the house, you can see straight out to the pool area, and the whole space feels open and connected.

He also suggested subtle and impactful ways to make the space feel cohesive. One of our favorite touches was his idea to paint the existing brick wall the same color as the cabinetry, which completely transformed the room. Everything now feels coordinated, polished, and visually stunning.

The island was another big improvement. Our old island was small. We were worried a larger island might overwhelm the space. David came up with the clever solution of creating a pocket in the wall to push the refrigerator back three inches. That small adjustment made it possible to fit a six-foot island, and it has transformed how we use the kitchen every day.

What impressed us most was not only David’s vision but also the ease of the entire process. David has a trustworthy team for everything: flooring, cabinetry, and painting, to mention a few. We never had to wait for anything. His crew was immaculate. We knew they were finishing up for the day when we heard the vacuum. The team is kind, professional, and so efficient that Susan actually misses having them around! It speaks volumes about David that his contractors are so loyal to him. He clearly takes care of his team, and they, in turn, take great care in their work.

Throughout the project, David was incredibly responsive, always offering drawings, pictures, and ideas, while constantly asking for our input. Of all the work we’ve had done over the years, no one comes close to the bar David sets in terms of professionalism and quality of work.

Now, we have our forever kitchen. It’s not only beautiful but perfectly suited to our everyday lives. Some of our favorite details are the new microwave seamlessly built into the island, a dedicated range hood with a powerful fan, a beverage cooler, and cabinetry that makes every inch functional.

We cannot say enough good things about working with David. His kindness, knowledge, and professionalism set him apart in every way. This space is beyond what we imagined!
