We first connected with David through a friend, and right away, we could tell he was different from any other contractor we had worked with. Initially, we planned to update our floors, but since we had also been thinking about a kitchen renovation, it felt like the perfect time to explore both. From the moment David walked into our home, he noticed possibilities we never would have considered on our own. We quickly realized we could trust him to help us bring our vision to life.
Our kitchen was warm and inviting, but it just didn’t function the way we needed it to. For years, we lived with it as it was, but when a cabinet designer asked Susan what worked in the space, her answer was, “Only the spice drawer.” That summed it up perfectly. What we needed was a kitchen that was both beautiful and functional. David was the first person to suggest looking behind the bulkheads above our cabinets. We had never thought to ask what was behind them, but when he investigated and discovered they could be removed, it completely transformed our kitchen. Now, we have tall, timeless cabinets that go all the way up to the ceiling. It is stunning; so much so that Susan sometimes just walks into the kitchen to admire it.
Working with David was truly a collaborative process. He has a wealth of ideas. One of the things we enjoyed most was bouncing ideas off each other. He has a keen eye for design, and his expertise was obvious from the very first meeting. He even identified the wood of our original floors on sight!
When we mentioned that our foyer felt dark, he suggested adding recessed lighting, which changed the entire mood of the space. He also recommended opening up the entryway into the kitchen; that single idea was a game-changer. Now, when you look through the house, you can see straight out to the pool area, and the whole space feels open and connected.
